Resident Application Criteria
The MHC Healthcare Family Medicine Residency Program utilizes the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to facilitate the application process and offers residency positions through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Our selection process involves a thorough review of applications submitted via ERAS to identify candidates whose goals and values resonate with those of our program. Selected applicants will be invited for an interview.
Upon successfully matching with the MHC Healthcare Family Medicine Residency Program, residents will be required to undergo a drug screening, a background check, and obtain a fingerprint clearance card. Additionally, residents must pass Step 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX) by January 1st of their second year (PGY-2). Failure to meet this requirement may result in the non-extension of the residency contract for the third year (PGY-3).
